Trips and Excursions

001Visit Lobos in luxury!

In my eight years of visiting the Island this was far and away my favourite excursion yet. Run by Ian, Corralejo Catamarans offers a 4 hour morning or afternoon cruise exploring the beautiful and tranquil Los Lobos and surrounding waters. An absolutely superb day out.

The stylish catamaran itself holds up to 10 passengers. There are lounging nets on the front which feel like hammocks to relax on, plenty of space to perch, and an outside table to sit and enjoy a drink in the sunshine.

There is a comfortable cabin inside, kitchenette, toilet facilities, and beds if you fancy a snooze.

On the sail over to Lobos we enjoyed a cool glass of cava as friendly skippers Alessandro and Danny gave us some informative and historical anecdotes about the Canary islands. The small group of 10 fitted perfectly on board giving space to interact with each other or keep to yourselves if you prefer. With beautiful music in the background, we sailed around the back of the Island seeing the small internal volcanic beach, as well as passing the famous ‘shell’ beach and various shallow lagoons. There were plenty of opportunities for scenic photos.

After around 1.5 hours sailing we anchored at the private mooring just off the front of the Island. There was the opportunity to snorkel and dive with the fishes in the beautiful clear and warm water, kayak, fish, or simply sunbathe. All the equipment and supervision is top notch. The guides took photos and videos of the group all swimming and feeding the fishes which was shown to us as we enjoyed a refreshing drink back on board. These are available to purchase on a memory stick for 20euros. A great memento of the day.

Rather than the standard bowl of paella often provided on such trips, cold platters of fresh fruit, salad, sandwiches and nibbles are provided for lunch. Drinks are free flowing throughout.

Alessandro and Danny were awesome guides who really made the trip. Whilst being well looked after, we also felt comfortable to do as much or a little as we liked.

On the way back they played what they call ‘the return song’ whist dancing behind the wheel. I will leave it as a little surprise but will suggest you sit right on the front of the boat to enjoy it the most!!!

A lavish and relaxing day out which is a real treat at only 55€ per person. I would highly recommend.
