Fuerteventura is a very photogenic island, so much so that a group of residents have formed a club - the Corralejo Camera Club. In this section, Steve Goldsmith, an active member of this club, shares some of his lovely pictures of the island.
Majanicho is a small hamlet located on a sheltered bay approximately half way between Corralejo and El Cotillo on the track that follows the north shore. It can also be reached by taking the paved road from Lajares by the football ground. This picturesque village consists of a scattering of houses, some quite makeshift, around the bay. There are no restaurants or shops.
Fuerteventura Carnival season in normally held during March, but as part of the religous calendar, and Easter being very early this year the Carnival season was all but finished by the end of February, bad news for anyone arranging their holidays for mid March so they can catch these spectacular events.
Steve Goldsmith, a local photgrapher, was out and about capturing some of the magic of this year's festivities, so if you couldn't come over, at least you get to see some highlights.
