Airport Chaos

The Police were called after fed-up passengers rowed with cabin crew following delays to flights of more than 46 hours.

Some passengers on delayed journeys had been sleeping on the floor of the airport in Fuerteventura following a spell of bad weather.

The disgruntled holidaymakers, from Manchester, were diverted to the second largest of Spain's Canary Islands, after storms scuppered their landing in Lanzarote.

Led by a small group of passengers, ‘disruption’ on flight MT1698 was the culmination of a 23-hour delay for Thomas Cook customers, who claimed bad communication, little support and being forced to sleep on concrete terminal floors, reports the Manchester Evening News

The disturbance prompted the pilot to disembark the already-delayed flight - extending passengers’ ordeal even further.
