Salt Museum Reopens

The Salt Museum in Fuerteventura reopened its doors this week after a period of closure needed for renovation.

The museum is located in the Salinas del Carmen in Antigua, and now has a new commercial area and more content in the museum.

Through informative panels, videos and typical artefacts, visitors are shown how salt was treated and collected, the history of this area, and the typical activities of salt workers. Although many tourists have visited this Salt Museum, many also want to also visit the salt lakes.

This Salt Museum is operated by a company that also runs other tourist attractions across the island, such as the Interpretation Centre of Los Molinos in Tiscamanita, and the Cheese Museum in Antigua.
