Albeau wins the first slalom eliminations of Fuerteventura

Costa Calma (Fuerteventura), July 31 (EFE) .- The current world champion, Frenchman Antoine Albeau, won today the first two rounds of the windsurf slalom race, the last of the disciplines that takes place in the Championship of the world of Windsurf and Kitesurf of Fuerteventura

After three windless days, which have reduced the freestyle freestyle test to two days of competition, today the slalom competition began with 56 competitors and with a wind of 30 knots, strength seven.

The organization explained to Efe the operation of this test in which each round includes eight competitors of which four are classified until they reach the 16 best sailors and from there a final of winners is made to choose the positions from one to nine and a final of losers to assign the positions from nine to sixteen.

After the celebration of two eliminatory ones, the classification is with Antoine Albeau like leader followed of the French Pierre Mortefon and the Dutch Jordi Vonk.

During the afternoon they have continued holding sleeves taking advantage of the good weather conditions of Sotavento.

The Italian Matteo Iachino leads the slalom circuit, after competing in Japan, Korea, Costa Brava and Portugal, awaiting the tests of Fuerteventura and Germany, followed by just one hundred points by the current world champion Antoine Albeau. EFE
