Plane Emergency

A passenger plane operated by Iberia that had a planned route from Gran Canaria to Madrid was found to have developed technical problems after take-off this week during the late morning.

It was reported that the flight should have taken off at 11.15, but was subject to a delay and eventually took off at 12.20. When the plane was flying over the island of Fuerteventura, the pilot realised there were technical problems that would mean the flight to Madrid could not continue.

Sources at Aena confirmed that the Gran Canaria to Madrid Iberia flight was forced to return to the airport of Gran Canaria shortly after take-off due to technical problems, but the plane landed normally and without incident.
