Taxis for the disabled

The Government of Fuerteventura this week announced it will allocate 50,000 euros for subsidies to acquire, adapt or improve taxis to improve the transport offered to people with reduced mobility or disability across the island.

The purchase of adapted vehicles will be subsidised with 70% of costs, while the adaption and improvement of existing taxis will have a 30% subsidy for all those residents who hold a licence to operate a taxi in Fuerteventura.

The Government of Fuerteventura explains that this initiative is part of its Strategic Plan of Subsidies to compensate for the economic pressures faced by those with taxi licences to be able to offer an effective transport service for those with reduced mobility.
